A Fascist Regime

fragg02As per my earlier “mislaid” article, I’m keen to ask the same question, perhaps in a way that doesn’t annoy the Editor enough to delete it? What exactly is your point? Are you equally fighting against institutional racism and bigotry, or only highlighting specific matters for some other purpose?

Whilst your article focuses on issues concerning the treatment of women, and medieval practices of corporal punishment, every single one of them exclusively references people of middle-eastern descent.

On a daily basis we witness posts on social media sites highlighting the injustice of other people’s religions, other nation’s laws, particularly peoples in nations with browner skins than our own. As a general rule a degree of racism or sexism can be laughed off as it obviously harms nobody, well, nobody that matters. However some of the recent posts on this very site appear to highlight levels of racial discrimination that would make 1980s South Africa appear like a holiday camp.

Without wishing to antagonise the site’s Editor, I feel I cannot in good faith fail to point the severity of their words. Let us look at some of the issues raised. Your original comments referenced a website, DeathToInternationalJewry.com. Are the views that resonate with you, do you see them reflected in your political party of choice and your day to day dealings with folk?

Your accompanying image showed a man rubbing pig fat onto bullets, giving the impression that just shooting a guy because of his faith wouldn’t be enough, and that some misguided attempt to mock the religious law against the “consumption of pork meat” which appears both in the Bible and the Koran would somehow make it worse? Without wishing to judge too harshly, it is my belief that I could eat a can of Alphabet Soup and shit a better argument than the one you have proposed.

Of course all right-thinking individuals will understand that these sorts of comments are only to be expected, and recognise that it would be grossly unfair to attempt to change the world or to punish people spreading these views. This author accepts that fully, however what he will not accept are that his submissions to this site, and his own financial rewards for his contributions, should be threatened by an over-zealous Editor. I’m sure you, the reader, will support this view fully.

Is this site a fascist regime or one where writers can contribute freely without the oppressive hand of our so called betters crushing all creativity and joy out of those with actual talent? I’m never one to judge, but surely this is a much worse travesty than a little harmless use of the words “sand norwegian” or the wholesale subjugation of someone because of their religion or skin colour, after all this takes away our basic right to earn money through writing opinionated articles? This, surely, must be the line in the sand where we must make our stand.

Thus far, and no more.
